The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) was established in 1967 to protect Minnesota's environment through monitoring environmental quality and enforcing environmental regulations.  In response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the MPCA has been researching methods of responding to massive debris removal effort following a catastrophic event. Hudson Meridian, along with New York City officials and other consultants involved in the World Trade Center Recovery effort, were invited to present to the MPCA the challenges and solutions during the rescue and recovery process. In addition, the team shared the lessons learned from that disaster response and current preparedness plans utilized by New York City and the Army Corps of Engineers for future responses.
