Hudson Meridian Construction Group was selected to provide Design Build Services for Broadway Housing Communities’ Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling located on the northern boundary of Harlem’s Sugar Hill. The museum is one element of this affordable housing, educational and cultural arts mixed use development.
This forward thinking space includes a history tube, feature staircase to be used for visitor staging, interactive learning stations, and multiple use function. Hudson Meridian will coordinate all design and construction aspects of this USGBC LEED Silver project.
Project Highlights:
Design/Build – The project will utilize a Design Build approach, incorporating contractor input at early stages of design development.
Acoustically Engineered Construction – Due to the mixed use of the base building, both floors serving as the museum will include acoustical ceiling and floor construction.
Feature Staircase – The feature staircase will double as grand stand seating for Museum visitors viewing the fine art gallery
Public Assembly Space – The museum will be a public assembly space that can be modified for multiple different functions and uses.
Amenities – The design includes interactive learning stations, moveable exhibit walls, tree house, polished concrete floors, a theater space, a library, and history entrance tube.
